Summary

Cliporator does not upload your source media, transcripts, generated captions, rendered videos, logos, background videos, background images, or music tracks to Cliporator.

Most app processing happens on your Mac. Cliporator contacts Cliporator services for license activation, license checks, license recovery, license deactivation, app update metadata, website delivery, support, purchases, and customer communications. Payments are handled by Stripe.

Information Processed Locally

Cliporator processes these items on your Mac:

• Source audio and video files you choose.
• Transcript files you provide or generate locally.
• Generated captions, caption corrections, and clip metadata.
• Rendered video clips and review files.
• Logo, cover art, background images, background videos, and music tracks.
• Folder paths, render preferences, and other app settings.
• Local setup files, including Cliporator's private transcription environment.

These items are stored in folders you choose, in Cliporator's app support folder, or in your local browser preview storage during development. Cliporator does not send these files to Cliporator servers.

Information We Collect for Licensing

When you activate, validate, recover, or deactivate a Cliporator license, the app sends limited licensing information to https://api.cliporator.com, including:

• Checkout email address.
• License key.
• A Cliporator device identifier.
• Device label, such as the Mac name reported by macOS.
• Device identifier source, such as hardware, install, or browser preview.
• Platform, app name, and app version.
• License status information, such as plan, activation time, and last check time.

For Mac licensing, Cliporator creates a hashed device identifier. The raw macOS hardware UUID is not sent to the license API.

Cliporator uses this information to activate your license, enforce the one-Mac license rule, recover license information, deactivate a Mac, prevent license abuse, provide support, and maintain license records.

Payments

Cliporator purchases are processed by Stripe. Stripe may collect payment information, billing details, fraud prevention signals, and other information needed to process your transaction. Cliporator does not store your full payment card details.

Cliporator may receive purchase-related information from Stripe, such as your checkout email, payment status, product or plan, and information needed to issue and support your license.

Website and Support Site

When you visit Cliporator websites or support pages, we or our service providers may process basic technical information, such as IP address, browser type, device information, referring page, pages visited, request time, and server logs. We use this information to operate the site, understand performance, protect against abuse, troubleshoot issues, and improve Cliporator.

If you contact support, submit a form, send email, request license help, or otherwise communicate with us, we may collect the information you provide, such as your name, email address, message content, attachments, license details, app version, device or platform details, and troubleshooting information. Please do not send source media, transcripts, generated clips, or other sensitive files unless we specifically ask for them and you are comfortable sharing them for support.

Cliporator may use cookies or similar local storage on its websites for essential site functions, security, preferences, analytics, or support tooling. If we use optional analytics or marketing cookies, we will use them to understand site usage and improve Cliporator, not to upload or inspect your local media files.

App Updates

Cliporator may contact https://api.cliporator.com/app/version to check whether a newer app version is available. This request is used to show update availability and release notes.

Like most internet services, Cliporator servers or service providers may receive technical information associated with requests, such as IP address, user agent, request time, and basic server logs.

Download and Install Analytics

Cliporator may use first-party analytics to understand downloads and app installs. For example, the Cliporator website may send an event when someone clicks a Mac download link, and the desktop app may send a one-time anonymous first-launch event.

These events may include basic technical information such as event type, anonymous device or browser identifier, app version, platform, referring page, request time, user agent, and a hashed IP address. Cliporator does not use these analytics events to upload or inspect your source media, transcripts, captions, rendered clips, local folders, license key, or project content.

Local Setup and Third-Party Tools

During first-run setup, Cliporator installs local transcription and media tools into its private app support environment. This may require downloading packages or models from third-party package or model hosts. Those downloads are used to set up local processing on your Mac.

Cliporator's normal media rendering workflow does not upload your media to those third-party services.

Analytics, Advertising, and Tracking

Cliporator does not currently use advertising networks, cross-app tracking, or third-party analytics SDKs in the desktop app. Download and install analytics are collected through Cliporator's own API.

Cliporator does not sell your personal information.

How We Share Information

We share information only as needed to operate Cliporator, including:

• With service providers that help run licensing, payments, email delivery, hosting, app distribution, support, security, and similar business operations.
• With Stripe for payment processing.
• With website, analytics, support, or communication providers when they help us operate Cliporator sites, support channels, and customer messages.
• If required by law, legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of Cliporator, users, or others.
• In connection with a business transfer, such as a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets.

We do not share your source media, transcripts, or generated clips because Cliporator does not collect them.

Retention

Files created by Cliporator remain on your Mac until you delete them.

Cliporator keeps licensing records for as long as needed to provide the app, support customers, enforce license terms, resolve disputes, comply with legal obligations, and maintain business records.

Support messages and website records are kept for as long as needed to respond to you, operate and secure Cliporator, improve the product, comply with legal obligations, and maintain business records.

You can deactivate a license from within the app. You may also contact us to request help with license records or deletion requests.

Security

Cliporator is designed to minimize data collection by keeping media processing local. We use reasonable safeguards for the licensing information we collect. No method of storage or transmission is perfect, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children

Cliporator is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Your Choices

You can:

• Choose which files and folders Cliporator can use.
• Delete local output, transcripts, settings, and media files from your Mac.
• Deactivate your license on a Mac.
• Avoid sending source media, transcripts, or generated clips in support requests unless you choose to share them.
• Contact us for help with license records, access, correction, or deletion requests.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as Cliporator changes. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date and provide notice where appropriate.
